MANAGEMENT

Maremma and pupsAs each individual farm operation and the expectations of a Maremma owner are different, so established routines need to be set to suit those particular needs.

A reputable breeder will give ongoing assistance, from time of purchase, through to maturity if required, to assist with those needs.

Care should always be taken by a breeder in the selection of the right puppy for it’s intended situation, whether it be for a family pet, a broad acre farming situation, or small hobby farm with a variety of pets or even a dog for the show ring.

Because a Maremma grows and develops very quickly, he will be very active and require a lot of exercise. It is important he has quiet, uninterrupted rest periods and is allowed to self-regulate his own exercise, until he is at least 6 months of age.
